Endemic to both the South and North Island, these flowers grow in abundance all over the country. They prefer hard surfaces to grow on but can be found littering the environment everywhere, Sometimes it flowers for only a few hours in one place and other times it stays in bloom on the same spot for months on end. These flowers thrive while being well tended to by road workers and council staff. The workers can often be seen looking after them for hours on end while spending some time on their phones. The bright orange flowers signify danger but in general they are a sign of an over-legislated society where the fear of everything is enforced by eager and over-sensitive government officials.
