"When I paint bird feathers, I am exploring memory, balance and belonging. The Aotearoa New Zealand native birdlife co-exist with introduced species, reflecting my experience as an adopted person - caught between inheritance and imposition. Feathers become symbols of memory and change, showing that balance means adaptation and endurance. Sometimes i go a bit rogue, so it's anyone's guess."
